The Broncos had a slim 34-32 lead before his big break, which came with 1:48 on the clock.
The personal highs of Jameis Winston and Jerry Jeudy came in a losing cause.
Winston set a Browns record with 497 air yards, including four touchdown passes.
Jeudy made nine catches, collecting 235 yards. He caught a 70-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter.
Winston, however, threw three interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Nik Bonitto grabbed one and raced 71 yards for six points late in the second quarter.
Bo Nix collected 294 air yards including a magnificent touchdown pass, coming from his own end zone.
His pass went about 50 yards before being caught by Marvin Mims. The latter was able to run alone to the paying zone, for a 93-yard touchdown reception.
The Broncos (8-5) will have a reprieve this week. They are trying to make the playoffs for the first time since 2016 when they won the Super Bowl.
Winston is 2-3 as the starting quarterback for the Browns (3-9), since replacing an injured Deshaun Watson.
Jeudy, a 2020 first-round pick, was traded to the Browns this spring, after four inconsistent seasons with the Broncos.
