Until now a simple title sponsor of various teams including Racing Spirit of Léman, Cool Racing was really founded in 2020 by Alexandre Coigny and Nicolas Lapierre with, on the program, LMP2 and LMP3. For what ? Quite simply because the first mentioned owns the Cool Aviation company.
The Swiss training – based in Annecy (France) – has since continued to gain momentum, to the point of becoming a reference in the world of Prototype. It can notably boast a second place at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LMP2 Pro/Am in 2023, two LMP3 titles in ELMS (2022 and 2023), but also several victories in this same series in LMP2 and a third place overall this year thanks to the No. 37 Oreca 07 from Fluxa / Jakobsen / Miyata.
Led today by Nicolas Lapierre, the Swiss team is changing its name for 2025. Goodbye Cool Racing, hello CLX Motorsport. However, the ambitions remain the same, and we should find the latter once again next year in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, in ELMS (with once again promising crews) and probably at the 24 Hours of Le Mans if the selection committee accepts their file. But the opposite would be surprising…
