Elevade therefore does not replace a club’s nutritionist but it offers to supplement the diet of footballers. Le Cercle and RWDM have already used the services of the young company. Players have also taken the initiative to improve their nutrition personally. Like Zeno Debast, one of the first customers, at the beginning of 2024. “He saw that Anderlecht were playing a lot of matches and he wanted to avoid injury in a season that was important for his future. He started ordering our meals, he played all the games without a physical problem and he got his nice transfer to Lisbon.”
Healthy burger and Olympique de Marseille
The principle is simple: Elevade delivers “boxes” of five meals every Monday to the club or directly to the player. Each dish heats up in three minutes in the microwave. The cost? 125€ per week, with (paid) customization possibilities. “We work with chefs who follow club recommendations on the contributions to be provided. Or about foods to avoid. But we don’t forget the pleasure either. It has to be good. Otherwise, the player could quickly give up. An example: we make a healthy burger.”
Several clubs are talking to Elevade at the moment, including Anderlecht, Standard, Union, Beerschot, Ghent, Antwerp and even Olympique Marseille. These clubs are also interested in a variation that the company offers: meals to take after a match when traveling, just to banish the usual pizza to eat in the locker room or in the bus. “OM wants to impose our meals on all its players outside the club. In the major championships, we are not afraid to be more directive on diet. But at the moment, we are not yet able to supply this far geographically. The company is young and wants to grow.” Several players have been contacted to invest in the project.
