Ruud van Nistelrooy is the new manager of Leicester City. The Dutchman left Manchester United a few weeks ago, where he took on an interim role after the dismissal of Erik ten Hag. Wout Faes and Bilal El Khannouss will therefore have a renowned coach at the head of their team.
For Steve Cooper, the adventure at Leicester was short-lived. The Welsh coach (44) took charge last summer, after Enzo Maresca won the Championship title with Leicester, ensuring promotion to the Premier League. However, after the defeat against Chelsea last weekend and only two wins in twelve games, the ‘Foxes’ decided to part ways with Cooper.
For Van Nistelrooy, this is his second challenge as head coach, after a season at the helm of PSV. At Manchester United, he only managed a few games after Ten Hag’s departure, but he had some good results, including a 5-2 victory against…Leicester City, in his first match as manager interim. From now on, he will have to get the “Foxes” out of their uncomfortable 16th place.
