The sanction was expected and it fell! Unsurprisingly, the LFP disciplinary committee sanctioned SC Bastia by ordering the Armand Cesari stadium to be closed completely as a precautionary measure. Clearly, this means that Sporting will play all of its home matches in an empty stadium while the file is being processed! And this Friday in the Coupe de France against Nancy. An investigation which will end on December 11, the date on which the disciplinary committee will deliver its final verdict!
A disciplinary committee which could therefore take much more serious sanctions than this simple match on Friday behind closed doors!
Hearing this Wednesday evening, Claude Ferrandi and Sporting pleaded by providing numerous elements, particularly around the identification of the supporters guilty of the throwing of projectiles. It remains to be seen whether this will be enough to avoid a heavier sanction!
As a reminder, Saturday November 23, the match played at Armand Cesari between SC Bastia and FC Lorient was interrupted for more than 30 minutes following projectiles being thrown onto the pitch and towards one of the linesmen!
At the same time, the disciplinary committee imposed 3 firm suspension matches on Jocelyn Janneh and 2 firm matches on Anthony Roncaglia, both expelled during this SCB – Lorient.
Sanctions which come a few hours after the precautionary relegation pronounced by the DNCG against SC Bastia.
