Almost a week after filing its complaint aimed at drafting it for Can 2025, to the detriment of Tanzania, from which it hopes to be disqualified, Guinea received a first response from Caf.
Five days after confirming to issue an appeal to Caf for the alignment of a player wearing a number not listed on the Tanzania-Guinea match sheet (1-0 on November 19), as part of the final qualifying day for CAN 2025, Guinea informed of the first steps in this matter.
In a press release this Tuesday, the Guinean Federation (Fgf) indicated that it had received an email that same day from Caf saying it had “taken note” of its complaint. “Caf has specified that it will be informed of the action taken on this complaint as soon as possible,” she added.
“The Guinean Football Federation expects Caf to speak the law and invite the sporting public to be calm,” concluded the official note. According to rumors to be taken with a grain of salt, Caf would have been content to sanction Tanzania with a fine of 50,000 dollars, without disqualifying Tanzania.
Which, if it is confirmed, will be like a hammer blow for the Syli National, who already has his disqualification from the Under-17 Can for age fraud in his throat. An accusation energetically refuted by Guinea which for its part points to “incongruities” on the part of the organizers. To be continued…
