The World Series champions hit the market with a bang Tuesday night.
The Los Angeles Dodgers have added starter Blake Snell to their rotation. According to Jeff Passan of ESPNthe agreement would be worth $182 million and last five seasons. There is talk of a signing bonus of $52 million. The contract will be formalized once the medical examinations have been successfully completed.
Last season, the 31-year-old pitcher was limited to 20 starts with the San Francisco Giants due to injury. He had a record of five wins against three losses with a 3.12 earned run average.
He thus joins a rotation which could already welcome the return to the mound of Shohei Ohtani if his rehabilitation continues without trouble. The Dodgers also have Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glasnow in their ranks. The Dodgers, however, lost right-handers Jack Flaherty and Walker Buehler to the free agent market.
During his career, Snell suited up for the Tampa Bay Rays and San Diego Padres.
