Pierre Ménès analyzes the victory of the Greens against the MHSC and he expresses some reservations!

AS Saint-Étienne managed to turn things around during their last match in Ligue 1. Thanks to a performance marked by courage and determination, the team led by Olivier Dall'Oglio was able to count on the unwavering support of his supporters at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium. This victory, although modest, against HSC, ended with a score of 1-0.

Despite this important victory, everything was not perfect for the Greens. They have now had two consecutive successes at home, which allows them to have 13 points and climb to an honorable 13th place after 12 days of the championship. However, areas for improvement remain.

Pierre Ménès, sports consultant, shared his thoughts on the match. He emphasized, “Bouchouari scored on a volley following a very poor clearance by the Montpellier defense,” noting a certain apathy in the opposing defense. The latter seemed unaware of the seriousness of the situation.

Montpellier almost never had the opportunity to come back to score. The Greens can rejoice in this second consecutive victory at home. However, Ménès believes that the Stéphanois must still progress, particularly on the offensive level, because their performance remains limited.

The next challenge for Saint-Étienne looms at Roazhon Park, where they will face the Stade Rennais, led by Jorge Sampaoli. This meeting will constitute a new opportunity for the Greens to demonstrate their ability to overcome challenges and continue their progression in the championship.
