There are days that are not like the others. This Tuesday, Olivier Létang was carrying the Olympic flame, but he was not alone. Throughout his journey, he was accompanied by LOSC supporters.

Passing through the North, the Olympic flame passed through eight towns this Tuesday for the 46th stage of its journey, which it ended in Lille. Several personalities took turns throughout the day to highlight the values of the Olympics, from Eve Gilles to Raphaël Varane and Olivier Létang, president of LOSC. The last two named almost succeeded each other. When one stopped on the Grand Place, the other set off from the Rue Nationale. With a smile on his face, almost a showman, the Lille leader took advantage of the moment to share a few words, a few photos, a few hand signals… with the many supporters present on the side of the road. He didn’t hesitate to high-five some passers-by, while trying to warm up the crowd.

“Light the flame at the stadium”, “The Champions League Olivier”some Lille supporters replied, while others briefly tried to talk about the transfer window, without success, still provoking some laughter. Most of his Dogues were content to repeatedly chant the name of the club they are impatiently waiting to be able to meet again: LOSC. Amused, Olivier Létang did not hesitate to warm them up: “Louder, louder”, he shouted several times. After having covered a few dozen meters, he passed on his torch, or rather the flame that he had been carrying and protecting until now during a passage broadcast on the channels of France TV Paris 2024. This light, a source of gathering and sharing of values, will end its journey at the Champ de Mars to set alight a new cauldron. A fact all the more symbolic since several events will take place in Lille throughout the summer.
