Regarding air transport, Air France-KLM has just sounded the alarm, noting that traffic to and from the French capital is lower than that expected to and from other major European cities. This is, according to a press release from the company quoted by the newspaper, a ” significant Paris avoidance behavior attributable to the Olympics« .

In addition, the same source adds, the French are booking fewer international flights than usual from the capital and have even decided to postpone their departure on vacation by plane until after the Games, noting that this situation has had a negative impact on Air France’s unit revenues of 160 and 180 million euros for the period between June and August 2024.

The company assures, however, that it will not reduce the number of its flights because the Olympic Games have no impact on the group’s capacity prospects.
