HC Fribourg-Gottéron has hired Yves Sarault as assistant coach for one season. The 51-year-old Canadian will support Patrick Emond, head coach, as well as Pavel Rosa, also an assistant.

With this commitment, the supervision of the first men’s team of the Fribourg club is now complete.

Since the end of his playing career in 2014, Yves Sarault has held several positions as head coach in the juniors and in the Swiss League. Yves Sarault has also worked as an assistant in the National League.

Yves Sarault’s last station was HC Sierre (Swiss League). Having arrived in Graben in the summer of 2022, he was dismissed on January 10, after a series of five defeats in a row.

“Yves Sarault is an experienced coach,” emphasizes sports director Gerd Zenhäusern. “Like Patrick Emond, Sarault has also worked a lot with young people. We are looking forward to welcoming new skills to complete the coaching staff.”

Yves Sarault, for his part, was very pleased to be able to seize this new opportunity: “I am very happy to join Fribourg-Gottéron, which is one of the best clubs in the League. I am looking forward to taking on the challenges of this season alongside Patrick Emond and Pavel Rosa.”
