The 2024/2025 Olympique de Marseille version is slowly starting to take shape. While Roberto De Zerbi arrived last week on the Canebière, OM is starting to get busy strengthening its squad. It must be said that Pablo Longoria has planned to massively slim down with the confirmed departures of Samuel Gigot and Iliman Ndiaye as well as the numerous rumors concerning Geoffrey Kondogbia, Ismaïla Sarr, Pau Lopez and Chancel Mbemba. These departures will aim to reduce a wage bill that is far too high but will have to be compensated by a few arrivals. This is already the case for Ismaël Koné who should arrive on the Vieux Port at the end of the Copa America with Canada from Watford. But at the beginning of this week, Pablo Longoria would have added a new name to his list who is currently playing with Lionel Messi for the Copa America.

Indeed, the Spanish president would target the young Valentin Carboni. Aged 19, this Argentinian attacking midfielder plays for Inter Milan. Loaned this season to Monza, the Buenos Aires native has established himself in the Italian club’s squad with 32 games played for two goals scored and four assists distributed. Versatile on the attack front, the compatriot was recently complimented by the pulga itself. “Valentin Carboni has an incredible future. He is both the present and the future” had declared the 2022 world champion. Valued at 15 million euros, the player would therefore be on the tablets of OM but many other clubs. It remains to be seen whether Marseille wants to offer him permanently or negotiate a loan with Inter.
