Moto2 – When two Moto2s stroll through the streets of Spa

Before making the trip to the Netherlands to compete in the Moto2 Grand Prix of Assen, the Marc VDS riders went to Belgium where the famous 24 Hours of Spa car race was taking place. The aim of the trip was to support their counterparts at Boutsen VDS, who will be lining up at the start of this race.

Marc VDS drivers were in the spotlight last week in Belgium, as they joined the four-wheeled vehicles for the drivers’ parade of the 24 Hours of Spa, a GT World Challenge Endurance car race held every year on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit, which celebrates its centenary in 2024.

Filip Salac and Tony Arbolino joined the Boutsen VDS team riders to parade through the streets of the Ardennes, before taking part in a meet-and-greet session with fans. The event allowed the two men to have their Moto2 photos taken in a rather unusual setting.

Sam Lowes, Marc VDS rider in the Superbike World Championship, naturally joined the team-mates to live the experience alongside them.

The event took place last Wednesday, before the start of the hostilities in Assen, and started from the circuit itself at around 16:30 (local time). The parade then ended in the city centre of Spa at around 17:40, when the drivers approached the Place Royale de Spa to meet the fans for autograph sessions and photos.

Such an initiative had already been taken during the previous edition of the race, and had been rather well received, which was also the case in 2024.

The opportunity to look back in pictures at this day which preceded an eventful weekend on the track, during which the Marc VDS drivers tried to confirm their recent progress. As a reminder, Valentino Rossi also participated in the Belgian double round-the-clock race with BMW, in the colours of Team WRT. The n°46 thus recorded its third consecutive participation in the 24 Hours of Spa, after the 2022 and 2023 editions.
