Frenchman Stéphane Heulot supports… Belgium

Several Belgian riders compete in French teams. This is the case ofOliver Naesen (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale), who still remembers the defeat of his national team in the semi-final of the 2018 World Cup in Russia. “I hope it won’t be like 6 years ago at the World Cup”he remembers. “I had the Belgian flag on my cheeks. My French teammates were wearing their blue, white and red jerseys. And they were the ones who went down as winners. I hope that won’t be the case this year.”

In the Belgian training Lotto-Dstnyit’s the opposite. Stephane Heulot leads a team of 7 Belgians on this Tour. And the French manager has chosen to support his adopted country. “I love football. I follow football. I’m always a little divided”he smiled. “But honestly, my heart leans towards Belgium.”
