Women’s: Mary Earps new PSG goalkeeper until 2026

PSG has made official the arrival of English international goalkeeper Mary Earps, who played for Manchester United. The new goalkeeper joins PSG until June 2026.

As the summer transfer window promises to be eventful, PSG opens the ball with a first big move. The Parisian club has made official the arrival of English international goalkeeper Mary Earps for the next two seasons. Her contract with the capital club will run until June 30, 2026.

The Nottingham native previously played for Manchester United, after having played for four other English clubs (Doncaster, Birmingham City, Bristol City, Reading) and a stint in Germany at Wolfsburg where she played very little (8 games in two seasons). After 5 years at United where she was the undisputed starter, the goalkeeper was already on the way out last summer. Earps was on Arsenal’s radar but ultimately did not join London. As early as this winter, PSG had started looking at this file, an insistent rumor placed PSG in a good position at the beginning of January.

A big blow for the PSG women’s section

Earps is considered one of, if not the, best goalkeeper in the world. At 31, after winning Euro 2022 with England and finishing as a finalist in the last World Cup in Australia (lost to Spain), the goalkeeper will discover a new championship. Courted by many clubs, she finally chose PSG, who were able to put the financial means on the table to attract her. Good news for the women’s section then, while the departures (Prêcheur, Chawinga, Baltimore) were starting to undermine morale.

The new goalkeeper arrives with the status of number 1, she will be in the fight with the two Polish players Katarzyna Kiedrzynek and Oliwia Szperkowska. The young Océane Toussaint should leave on loan this season after spending half a season at Le Havre.
