He will be given another position in the organization, the reporter added. The organization has not yet confirmed the information.

At the end of his career of more than 900 games in the NHL, in 2018, the Quebecer became an assistant coach with the Laval Rocket. During the winter of 2021, the Canadian repatriated him to give him the same role in Montreal. He then survived the change of guard that saw Martin St-Louis take over as head coach a year later.

In recent seasons, he was notably responsible for the team’s numerical advantage.

The organization will have a lot to do in the coming weeks to replenish its coaching staff. In addition to Burrows, management will have to find a head coach and an assistant in Laval, in order to replace Jean-François Houle and Kelly Buchberger, who both resigned.
