Mercato: One track is confirmed for Ugarte, another is cooling

Manuel Ugarte is leaving PSG this summer, just a year after his arrival, and the Manchester United track seems the most serious at this stage. That of Bayern Munich has cooled while Atlético Madrid is interested, but does not seem to have the means to afford it.

Author of a good Copa América so far, with two good performances against Panama then Bolivia, Manuel Ugarte should once again have the opportunity to show himself on the night of Monday to Tuesday against the United States (coup d sent at 3 a.m. French time). La Celeste is at the top of its group C before this match and almost qualified for the quarter-finals.

Behind the scenes, Manuel Ugarte sees his name in the transfer window news, just one year after his transfer to PSG for €60 million. If he had hesitated at the time with Chelsea, also interested in his services, the Uruguayan defensive midfielder is this time announced in the sights of Manchester United.

With INEOS now at its head, Manchester United wants to invest heavily this summer and wants to find a replacement for Casemiro, who is leaving two years from the end of his contract. As it leaked last week, the Red Devils have made Manuel Ugarte a priority in the middle and the 23-year-old Uruguayan international is attracted by this challenge.

Ugarte, a serious lead from Manchester United, but not from Bayern

The English club must, however, reach an agreement with PSG, which is open to a sale, but on condition of recovering a good part, if not all, of its investment. And Manchester United would have only gone up to €30 million for the moment, via an oral offer, an amount deemed too low by PSG.

According to the German journalist from Sky Sport, Florian Plettenberg, Ugarte is in any case a serious prospect for the Red Devils. But contrary to what Ben Jacobs had revealed in particular, Plettenberg ensures that the PSG defensive midfielder is not being tracked for the moment by Bayern Munich, who still seem to make the Portuguese João Palhinha their priority for this number six position.

Mentioned in Spain a few days ago, Atlético Madrid’s interest in Ugarte was also confirmed last weekend in Uruguay via an ESPN journalist, but the Colchoneros are only offering a loan to PSG, who are prioritizing a sale in the event of their player leaving this summer. This lead is therefore not on the cards either for the moment.
