WEC – Lamborghini confirms to pause its Hypercar program

Automobili Lamborghini announced this morning that the brand is pausing its WEC sports programs in both the Hypercar and LMGT3 categories.

After making its WEC debut this year, Lamborghini had a difficult but rewarding first season with its SC63 LMDh prototype securing a top 10 finish at the 24 Hours of with the added bonus of a stint in Hyperpole at Fuji. For the LMGT3 part, there was a podium at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps.

The fact of having to field two Lamborghini SC63s in the WEC undermines the strategy of the brand which was financially supported by Iron Lynx which joins Mercedes in LMGT3, without forgetting a Porsche for the Iron Dames.

➡️ WEC – 36 entered for the year, but without Lamborghini

Lamborghini clarified in a press release that « the conditions were no longer in line with the company's strategy. »

Lamborghini therefore evaluated different options and chose not to participate in the WEC in 2025 while remaining committed to the development of the SC63 by pursuing the IMSA championship in the United States. With Iron Lynx or not? Reply shortly…

The pause in the FIA WEC program also allows Lamborghini Squadra Corse to focus its efforts on the development of the new Temerario GT3 throughout the year. The latter should be officially revealed after completing circuit testing during 2025.
