On the sidelines of the Oscars Midi Olympique in Angoulême, New Zealand fly-half Ben Botica (35 years old) announced that he would extend the SA XV adventure for an additional season.
How to brighten up the evening of an Angoumois supporter? You simply had to be present at the Midi Olympique Oscars ceremony in Angoulême! This Thursday, November 21, experienced New Zealand flyhalf Benjamin Botica (35) was awarded the main Oscar for his prowess on the Chanzy pitch. And as the opportunity was great, the Charente playing master announced on stage to extend the adventure with the SA XV, as we told you last October.
“It’s a special team.”
After obtaining his trophy and being applauded by an assembly of 600 aficionados, Botica saluted his club: “Thank you for your trust in the staff, in the management and thank you to the guys for your commitment. It’s a special team and one which with a lot of ambitions can do something special this season. My family also supported me a lot and without them I couldn’t live my dream” concluded the former resident of the Top 14. During the evening, he also performed a haka with his brother Jacob, a moment suspended. Finally, this season, Ben Botica has played nine games, all as a starter, and has already scored 88 points under the purple tunic.
