The plaintiff’s lawyers formally requested the recusal of Eleonora Arenas, the judge in charge of the case, according to information from Le Parisien. The defense of the woman who accuses the two players of aggravated rape in a meeting, believes that there is “a latent risk of lack of impartiality”.

The Argentine judge is notably criticized for her lack of respect for the new elements brought to the file. Defense attorneys have provided testimony from medical experts that they say is “vitally important.” For her part, Eleonora Arenas refused to take them into consideration.

A hearing postponed again?

This appeal, brought by defense lawyers, has “very little chance of succeeding” writes Le Parisien. He will be examined this Friday at 3 p.m., in Mendoza (7 p.m. in ). As a reminder, although authorized to return to French soil, Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou remain indicted for aggravated rape in a meeting.
