St. Louis Blues forward Robert Thomas took reps on a line completed by Pavel Buchnevich and Jordan Kyrou in practice Tuesday, with an eye toward a return to play.
Thomas had been nursing a broken ankle since mid-October.
The Blues (8-10-1) host the Minnesota Wild this evening.
Thomas, who is 25, has scored one goal and had five assists in six games this season. Last year, he collected 26 goals and 60 assists for 86 points in 82 games, being named to the all-star team for the first time in his career.
Stone still on injured reserve
Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone is back on injured reserve.
His health is being evaluated on a day-to-day basis and his place on the injured list will allow Vegas to have an additional player with the team until Stone returns.
Stone is dealing with a lower body injury and has missed the Golden Knights’ last five games.
The forward had an excellent start to the season with six goals and 21 points in 13 games.
Brayden Point a uniform
Tampa Bay Lightning center Brayden Point will return tonight after missing the last four games with a lower body injury.
Point was the center of a line completed by Jake Guentzel and Nikita Kucherov during the practice session before the game against the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Lightning also recalled forward Gage Goncalves from the Syracuse Crunch.
Kampf on injured list
The Maple Leafs recalled forward Fraser Minten from the American Hockey League’s Toronto Marlies on Tuesday and announced that center David Kampf has been placed on injured reserve.
Kampf is dealing with a lower-body injury and his presence on the injured list is retroactive to Nov. 16, when he played 14:22 minutes in Saturday’s overtime win over the Edmonton Oilers.
