Injured in the adductor muscles during Portugal training during the international break, João Palhinha was examined by Bayern Munich doctors and will be absent longer than expected, thus missing the Bayern/PSG clash on November 26 in the Champions League.
Just one week before the long-awaited Bayern/PSG match, the German club confirmed the injury to the adductor muscles of its Portuguese defensive midfielder João Strawwho was injured training with Portugal at the very start of the November international break. Without giving a precise duration of unavailability, Bayern announces in its press release that Palhinha will be absent “in the coming weeks”.
This means that he will be out of action for Bayern/PSG on November 26. According to the latest reports from the German press, Palhinha is injured more seriously than expected and should be unavailable for six weeks rather than three, therefore also missing Bayern's next Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk on December 10.
Towards a Kimmich/Goretzka double pivot against PSG
A hard blow for Vincent Kompany, who already has to do without the services of his young and talented German defensive midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic since October 19. The latter injured his collarbone against Stuttgart and still cannot go to the duel, even if he recently resumed training alone.
Against PSG, Bayern Munich should play 4-2-3-1 and the double pivot has a good chance of being composed of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka. The first was hit in the ankle against Bosnia-Herzegovina last weekend, but is not injured, while the second was not called up by Julian Nagelsmann and was able to rest in Munich during the break .
