Lovers of football and LOSC, Sunday November 24, 2024 is a date to circle in the calendar. For the 12th day of Ligue 1, the Mastiffs host Stade Rennais at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium (North), but not only that. It is also the 80th anniversary of the Lille club. For the occasion, activities and celebrities are there, promising to thrill players and supporters.
In 1944, Olympique Lillois, French champion in 1933, and Sporting Club Fivois merged. This union marks the beginning of a new era: LOSC. In the decade that followed, they made a place for themselves among the big clubs by becoming twice champions of France in 1946 and 1954. Despite some complicated periods, the Mastiffs continue to make their supporters dream. they notably reached the round of 16 of the Champions League in 2007, and rwin Ligue 1 in 2011 and 2021.
An international star after the match
LOSC hasn’t aged a bit and is thinking big to celebrate its 80th anniversary. From midday, activities are planned on the forecourt of the Décathlon Arena Stade Pierre-Mauroy. In front of door L, a stage will be set up from noon. It will be possible to win gifts, take photos with former Mastiffs or even dance to the sound of a DJ Set. Around a hundred former players should be present and honored at the start of the match.
To take the atmosphere up a notch, the club plans to organize “the biggest tifo in the history of the Decathlon Arena Stade Pierre-Mauroy”. Once the match is over, no matter the score, the party continues. Internationally renowned French DJ Martin Solveig (Rejection, Jalousy) will be present for the occasion and will present a unique set mixing sound and light around LOSC alumni.
A few places are still available on the club website. To get a place, it costs between 30 and 65 euros.
