The French will begin their Rugby sevens season next Saturday during the Dubai stage. The Olympic champions know their group for this first meeting on the world circuit.
After the golden summer of the men in Paris, winners of the Olympic tournament, the French men’s and women’s rugby sevens teams will return to the fields next week to attack a tight season.
From November 30, the French septists will meet in the Middle East, and more particularly in Dubai, for the first stage of the world circuit. And among the men, the players of new coach Benoît Baby know their group. The gold medalists will start with a match against Australia, before meeting the South Africans whom they beat in the semi-final at the Stade de France last July. Paulin Riva’s teammates will finish with a match against Kenya.

Among the women, change took place during the summer with the departure of David Courteix, coach of the French for 14 years. The Clermontois was replaced by Romain Huet. After their elimination in the quarter-finals in Paris, Les Bleues will want to get back on track against Spain, Great Britain and the United States.
