On July 18, the Strasbourg Racing Club announced that Patrick Vieira was leaving his position as coach of the Alsatian club, “by mutual agreement”even before the 2024-2025 financial year begins. Less than a month later, the former midfielder was recruited by DAZN as a sports consultant.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the former Blues midfielder is about to sign for Genoa. Even if certain details of his future contract remain to be finalized, the 48-year-old technician should sign a two-year lease with the Italian club. He will succeed Alberto Gilardino.
Vieira knows Serie A well

During his coaching career, Patrick Vieira has been on the sidelines of New York City (2015-2018), OGC Nice (2018-2023), Crystal Palace (2021-2023) and therefore the Racing Club of Strasbourg (2023-2024). He knows Serie A well having played there as a player, notably at AC Milan (1995-1996), Juventus Turin (2005-2006) and Inter Milan (2006-2010).
