FC Barcelona, at the top with its A team at the start of the season, shines much less on the side of its reserve team, Barca Atlètic. 16th and relegated after 13 days of Primera RFEF, the third Spanish division, Albert’s men Sánchez can’t get his head above water. A situation which worries the Blaugrana management and the first questions arise to understand what is wrong. The possibility of dismissing the coach is not on the agenda but if the poor results continue, stronger decisions could be taken. A concern which is also explained by the disappointment still in the minds of the accession final to LaLiga 2 lost against Cordoba.
Three important factors
To better understand, the departure of Rafa Marquez before the start of the pre-season disrupted the plans. Albert Sánchez took over a dejected group and the injuries of Dani Rodríguez, Barberà, Aleix Garrido, Diego Percan and Toni Fernández, key elements of the group, contributed to this failed start to the season. With its young talents, Barca Atlètic is also impacted by the national youth selections with the call-ups of Guille, Pau Prim, Andrés Cuenca and Darvich. Finally, the emergence of Marc Casado, Marc Bernal and Pau Victor, all three of whom joined the pros, also deprived the group of its important executives and players from last season. But the Catalans will find a solution to get back on track.
