The commissioners’ decision regarding the 1st stage

The Transalpine is ahead of its compatriots Barbara Guarischi (Team SD Worx-Protime) et Maria Giulia Confalonieri (Uno-X Mobility). The Australian Tiffany Cromwell (Canyon // SRAM Racing) and the Dutch Lucinda Brand (Lidl-Trek) completed the top 5 of the day. No change in the general classification, with Margot Vanpachtenbeke which remains yellow and Ruth Edwards (Human Powered Health) which is still its runner-up. It should still be noted that the marshals modified the gaps for the 1st stage following the episode of the closed level crossing which had delayed the peloton. This is how, instead of 5 minutes and 34 seconds, the peloton’s delay on the two breakaways was increased to 2’34”, which revives interest in the final victory.
