MMA – We are talking here about two of the biggest rivals in history. On this subject, Daniel Cormier pays a beautiful tribute to Jon Jones.
When we talk about big rivalries in UFC history, impossible not to quote Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier. Indeed, the two athletes did not like each other and they did not hide it for a single moment. This gave rise to some memorable sequences even before their two fights took place against each other. The first fight was a hard-fought battle as Jon Jones put Daniel Cormier KO spectacularly in the second. After these fights, tensions remained high between the two men. Today, DC is a commentator for the UFC, which requires him to stay at a minimum neutral towards the athletes facing him. The latter, however, had difficulty hiding his contempt for his rival on several occasions. After UFC 309, Daniel Cormier nevertheless pays a nice tribute to Jon Jones.
A human problem, not a sporting problem
After UFC 309, Daniel Cormier spoke to speak out about Jon Jones and the rivalry between them. The opportunity for the former UFC champ to set things straight. We thus learn that DC has nothing against Jon Jones as an athlete, quite the contrary.
ON THE SAME SUBJECT:
« It doesn’t matter how I feel about Jon Jones in life. I respect him immensely, immensely as a fighter. He does a lot of good things when he’s in the octagon, which makes him more successful than anyone. This guy has defended his title over three generations of fighters […] No matter what you think about it, you clearly have to respect what he has accomplished as well as his skills in the cage. »
Probably not ready to go on vacation together tomorrow,DC’s statement towards Jon Jones is a good start regardless.
