OM completes its king of the transfer window until 2027

Mehdi Benatia's service contract with OM ends on December 5. But the former player's future will always be in Marseille.

Arriving at short notice after the resignation of several close friends of Pablo Longoria, Mehdi Benatia will quickly see his status evolve in the right direction. From December 5, the right-hand man of the president of Olympique de Marseille will sign a fixed-term contract and become an employee of the Marseille club until June 2027.

According to RMCMehdi Benatia will officially become sporting director of OM and will therefore be fully in charge of managing the transfer window without any restrictions. To confirm that Benatia will be fully involved in the sporting management of the club with Roberto De Zerbi, his fixed-term contract will be similar to that of the Italian coach. De Zerbi signed until 2027 with Frank McCourt's club, and it will therefore be the same for the sporting director. The president of Olympique de Marseille obtained the agreement of the American owner to complete this file quickly, Pablo Longoria having an ideal relationship with Mehdi Benatia since the latter joined OM. In addition, the former player has the support of the Vélodrome, the 2024 summer transfer window having ignited the people of Marseille.
