Casablanca – The horse “Ghasham”, owned by Atlas Stud, won the Grand Prix of HM King Mohammed VI of purebred Arabians, counting for the 10th edition of the Moroccan International Horse Racing Meeting, Sunday at the Casablanca racecourse -Anfa.
The horse “Ghasham”, ridden by Amine Moughat, won the major event of the second day of this prestigious competition, organized by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Horses (SOREC). The first day was dedicated to English thoroughbreds.
The Grand Prix of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan of purebred Arabians went to the horse “Al Mambir Fal” owned by Fal Stud and ridden by Khalid Ibba.
As for the HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Grand Prix, it was won by the horse “Buraak” owned by Mohamed Daissaoui and ridden by Mohcine Lafram.
As for the United Arab Emirates President’s Cup, it was won by the horse “Alataat”, owned by Mustapha Ahmed Teeka and ridden by Khaled Miftah Alamari.
The competition program was also marked by the organization of the Jockey Club of Turkey prize which went to the horse “Djayzam Maamora”, owned by Nour-Eddine Bajjou and ridden by Ayoub Rayi, while the horse “Bazula Fal”, owned by Fal Stud and ridden by Reda Moussa, won the Royal Moroccan Association of Horse Breeders (ARMEC) prize.
In a statement to MAP, the general director of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Horses, Omar Skalli indicated that the tenth edition of the Moroccan International Horse Racing Meeting, organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, was been a success in all respects, whether organizationally or results-wise.
He noted that the major prizes of HM King Mohammed VI, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid were won by Moroccan horses, stressing that these good results are the result of excellent work carried out by all professionals.
Mr. Skalli noted that the foreign delegations who participated in the Moroccan International Horse Racing Meeting praised the high level of organization of this edition, stressing that this success could give greater influence to the equestrian sector in Morocco in particular, and like the Kingdom in general.
At the end of the competitions, the Minister of Agriculture, maritime fisheries, rural development and water and forests, Ahmed Bouari, the Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region, governor of the prefecture of Casablanca, Mohamed Mhidia and the governor of the Casablanca-Anfa district prefecture, Aziz Dadas respectively presented the winners with the Grand Prizes of HM King Mohammed VI, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid.
The HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix for English thoroughbreds was won on Saturday by the horse “Al Othmane”, owned by Mohammed Aziz Bennani, ridden by Aziz Jabafi.
The Moroccan International Horse Racing Meeting (MIM), in its tenth session, whose program included 14 races, including 8 international races, saw the participation of high-level riders, like previous editions, and was broadcast in 20 countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Turkey, the Sweden, Ivory Coast, Italy and France.
Since its launch in 2014, the MIM has established itself as an unmissable event, attracting renowned participants and major races each year. By constantly renewing itself and innovating, the MIM affirms Morocco’s position among the great nations of the horse racing industry.
