A Parisian in ASSE’s sights?

ASSE is prospecting and finding out about numerous profiles in order to strengthen its team for next season. Wishing in particular to strengthen its offensive sector, ASSE has ticked the name of one of the revelations of Ligue 2.

The Greens are active behind the scenes. If no player has yet signed a contract with the Saint-Etienne club, it is undeniable that the recruitment unit is working to find players likely to allow the Greens to remain in Ligue 1 next season. While Yunis Abdelhamid, at the end of his contract with Reims, could land in Forez, it is towards another profile that the Greens are turning.

It is in Ligue 2, a championship that Loïc Perrin has been obliged to scrutinize for two seasons, that ASSE has ticked off the name of an attacking midfielder. Alimami Gory, at the end of his contract at Paris FC, had a good season with the capital club. Author of 7 goals and 8 assists, he largely contributed to the Parisians’ great season.

At 27, Alimani Gory has already passed through Le Havre (his training club) then Cercle Bruges (Belgium, from 2019 to 2020) during a loan. Back in France, Gory joined ESTAC Troyes. His time at Troyes was beneficial to him and the winger actively participated in the club’s rise to Ligue 1. With 41 matches and 8 goals, he stood out as an important player in decisive moments.

ASSE seduced by Gory’s versatility?

In 2022, Gory signed with Paris FC in Ligue 2. His last season with the Parisian club was an opportunity for him to once again demonstrate his qualities. Thanks to his speed, his dribbling and his vision of the game, he creates many chances and scores important goals. His agility and dynamism make him a major asset for the team. Alimami Gory stands out for his speed and agility, assets that allow him to unbalance opposing defenses. His precise dribbling and his vision of the game make him a formidable creator of chances. Able to play in several offensive positions, his versatility is a plus.

According to Laurent Prunetta of the newspaper Le Parisien, Gory is at the end of his contract with Paris FC and will not extend. Many interesting offers are coming in, notably from a Ligue 1 club which he believes to be Saint-Étienne, but also from clubs in the English D2 and the United Arab Emirates. These prospects show the appeal that Gory arouses on the transfer market, both in France and internationally.

Alimami Gory in St-Etienne? We are still at the rumor stage. He is obviously a player who could bring more to the Greens in a sector that needs strengthening.
