The times of the Polish Rally, revenge expected for Sébastien Ogier

On June 2, during the final day of the event in Sardinia, Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) came very close to achieving a third consecutive victory this season, after those previously won in Croatia and Portugal. While he was leader at the start of the Power Stage, a puncture in the middle of it cost him the first final place in favor of Ott Tänak (Hyundai), winner by only two tenths of a second, a record for the smallest gap in WRC equaled.

Less than a month after this cruel setback at the wire, the eight-time world rally champion had the opportunity to relaunch himself in the following event, since the Toyota team had confirmed that he was indeed on the list of entered in the Rally Poland, from June 27 to 30. This gravel rally celebrates its return to the world championship after seven years of absence and Sébastien Ogier has already emerged victorious twice (2014, 2015).

While the recent round in Sardinia experimented with a compressed format over 48 hours, starting only on Friday afternoon, the Rally Poland is credited with a traditional format, which even kicks off on Thursday evening. , via a short special of 2.50 km. The following two days each offer 7 specials, Sunday 4 specials, for a total of 19 specials giving rise to a timed course of 303.16 km.
