Justin Poirier scored his 19th and 20th goals of the campaign to help the Baie-Comeau Drakkar defeat the Drummondville Voltigeurs 4-2 on Saturday.
Raoul Boilard and Louis-Charles Plourde each collected a goal and an assist for the Drakkar.
Anthony Lavoie had two assists and Lucas Beckman stopped 26 shots.
Sam Oliver, with his 18th goal of the season, and Renaud Poulin provided the Voltigeurs’ response. Riley Mercer made 27 saves.
The Sags silence the Phoenix
Charles-Antoine Lavallée scored two goals, Raphaël Précourt stopped 21 shots and the Chicoutimi Saguenéens blanked the Sherbrooke Phoenix 4-0.
Félix Gagnon and Christophe Berthelot scored the other two goals for the Saguenéens. Peteris Bulans had two assists.
For the Phoenix, Linards Feldbergs rejected 23 shots.
Verreault makes the difference
Antonin Verreault scored in overtime to give the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies a 4-3 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads.
Lars Steiner, William Vézina and Axel Dufresne were the scorers for the Huskies. Ty Higgins also stood out with four assists. Samuel Meloche made 15 saves.
Logan Crosby, Jan Sprynar and Liam Kilfoil responded for the Mooseheads. Mathis Rousseau stopped 42 shots in the defeat.
More trouble in Gatineau
Philippe Veilleux had two goals and two assists to help the Val-d’Or Foreurs defeat the Gatineau Matériaux 6-3.
Benjamin Olivier, Nathan Brisson, Jordan Labelle and Samuel Fiala also found the back of the net for the Foreurs. Nathan Baril and Evan Dépatie each collected two assists. Cédric Massé rejected 29 shots.
Lukas Kral, twice, and Justin Boisselle made the red light shine on the Olympic side. Iain Wintle made 31 saves.
The Armada leaves nothing
Eliot Ogonowski scored two goals, Vincent Gladu stopped 32 pucks and the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada blanked the Cape Breton Eagles 4-0.
Xavier Villeneuve and Théo Lemieux scored the Armada’s other two goals. Matt Gosselin and Vincent Desjardins each had two assists.
Jakub Milota allowed four goals on 28 shots in 40 minutes of play. He was replaced by Brandon Lavoie in the third period, who was perfect with 13 saves.
The Titan can thank its goalkeeper
Joshua Fleming blocked 28 of 29 shots aimed at him to help the Acadie-Bathurst Titan defeat the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs 2-1.
Louis-François Bélanger broke the tie in the third period with his sixth goal of the campaign. Tyler Wood scored the Titan’s other goal.
Tyler Peddle scored the only goal for the Sea Dogs and Charles-Édward Gravel stopped 35 shots.
Moncton has no worries
Preston Lounsbury scored a goal and an assist to lead the Moncton Wildcats to a convincing 5-1 win over the Charlottetown Islanders.
Caleb Desnoyers, Étienne Morin, Markus Vidicek and Alex Mercier also found the back of the net for the Wildcats.
Yoan Loshing had two assists and Jacob Steinman stopped 26 pucks.
Brayden Stumpf scored the Islanders’ only goal and Nicolas Ruccia blocked 18 of 23 shots aimed at him before giving way to Donald Hickey, who stopped the Wildcats’ final nine shots.
