In 17 games this season, Shane Wright has been shut out 16 times

He will never say it openly, but Shane Wright showed arrogance when he looked at the CH table after being selected by the Kraken in the 2022 draft.

That said, the Canadian decided not to select him with the first choice… And even if the sample is not huge, for the moment, we can say that the Montreal leaders have done well.

After all, Wright has struggled to become an impact player in the National League.

He did well last year in the eight games he played with the Kraken (four goals and one assist), but it’s more difficult this season.

Wright has collected only two points in 17 games since the start of the campaign… And these two points were scored in the same match, last October 17.

The player of Canadian Kraken has been shut out 16 times and has not recorded a score in its last 12 games:

So Dan Bylsma started sending messages there.

Wright has played more than 12 minutes (12:12) just once since the start of November and his playing time is much less than at the start of the season.

That said, if the trend continues and he continues to disappoint, we shouldn’t be surprised to see the Kraken send him to the American League.

He did well at Coachella Valley last campaign, after all. Wright still collected 47 points (22 goals) in 59 games with the Firebirds…

Some young people take more time to develop and there are examples at this level. But Wright, being drafted 4th overall, should be able to produce.

There are guys who were selected after him who have already played more games and who have already collected more points in the NHL.

That shouldn’t happen, especially when we think about the fact that he was seen as the logical 1st choice by several teams/recruiters:

It’s too early to call Shane Wright a flop. Much too soon.

But it’s okay to say that in Seattle we expect more from him because he doesn’t meet expectations For now.

In burst

– Big pieces that re-enter the Avalanche lineup.

– Come on!

– We can’t wait to see him in Montreal.

– Who will win the Hart Trophy?

– There are things that don’t change in the world of sport.
