“We have obtained the official and exclusive license for the Tour de France, 2025 posters worldwide. We are happy and it is a pride to bring this to Finistère! » Cyril and Erwan Guiziou, two Brest brothers aged 31 and 26, won over Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), the organizer of this global event. “We went for it,” smiles Cyril. They did not know that ASO was reaching the end of its contract with the American Displate, a giant in the sector.
“In ten days, we have already sold more than 2,000. In France but also a lot in Germany, in Spain… We will have to translate our website to continue to develop internationally.” Since June, thanks to Brest Métropole, they have set up in a business incubator, in Poul ar Bachet, in Brest, on 100m2. They therefore have space to create, store…
Eight homemade posters with legendary places from the Tour
“L’Afficheur Français” was the only candidate in Brittany. “It took eight months of discussions,” explains the duo. “We highlighted the fact that it is a family adventure, that we are making in France. The main poster for the Men’s Tour is by Wim’, a designer from the North. That of the Women’s Tour by Jum’s Factory, from Saint-Malo (35). We created eight others ourselves, with legendary places from the Tour: the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, legendary passes like the Ventoux or the Tourmalet… They are signed Kevin Perro, our graphic designer from Plouzané (29) and Capucine Pourre, from Rennes.” Printing is done at Cloître, in Saint-Thonan (29). The posters are generally sold alone but the wooden frames come from Morbihan.
“We benefit from the momentum around Stade Brestois”
The Guiziou brothers started with Stade Brestois, around the “Passionnément Brestois” brand and stadium posters, four years ago. Then, Stade Rennais, two years ago, with the brand “Roazhoneg Boutik” (the two merged to give “L’Afficheur Français”), AS Saint-Étienne and even Toulouse FC. “Finding yourself in front of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium, in Saint-Étienne, at 9 a.m., with children in front of the store…” recalls Erwan. “The Greens are impressive in terms of sales.” “We are currently benefiting from the momentum around Stade Brestois,” adds Cyril. The company’s first turnover is expected to exceed €150,000. “Without being obliged to do so, we prefer to work with the clubs”, which receive royalties.
After the recent poster of Finistère runner Valentin Madouas, against the backdrop of Sacré-Cœur, the day he won his Olympic silver medal, their desire to develop in sports other than football takes on a whole new dimension with the Round. And ASO organizes other major competitions, cycling or even the Dakar…
