And 1000 for McDavid!

It’s done: Oilers superstar Connor McDavid reached the legendary plateau of 1,000 points in the National Hockey League in only his 659th game, Thursday night in Edmonton.

McDavid took advantage of a perfect pass from his faithful sidekick Leon Draisaitl on a 2-on-1 descent to beat Nashville Predators goalie Scott Wedgewood. Watch in the video above.

The captain of the Alberta team was joined on the ice by all his teammates who left the bench to celebrate the feat.

The cameras of the broadcaster, the FanDuel network, turned to McDavid’s father, Brian, a proud spectator in the stands. Brian McDavid was accompanied by the star player’s agent, Judd Moldaver of the Wasserman Agency.

McDavid became the fourth-fastest player to stack 1,000 points. Only Wayne Gretzky (424 games), Mario Lemieux (513) and the late Mike Bossy (656) were faster than him.

For comparison, among his contemporaries still in action, it took 757 games for Sidney Crosby to collect his 1000th point and 880 games for Alexander Ovechkin.
