The municipal swimming pool has unveiled some changes for this new summer season. Activities for adults and children, installation of an inflatable structure, or even the creation of a catering area are on the program.

Get your swimsuits on! Castelnaudary’s municipal swimming pool, the Pierre-de-Coubertin aquatic area, is switching to summer time. Budding swimmers will be able to enjoy the two outdoor pools, 25 and 50 meters respectively, which will open to the public from Monday July 1. The town hall has announced some changes compared to previous years.

A new program

Initially, the municipality decided to extend opening hours. The municipal swimming pool will therefore be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. continuously. It will be closed every Sunday.

Then, the town hall purchased a large inflatable structure, accessible for children over six years old. Three water lines in the large pool will also be reserved for swimmers, and a picnic area will be set up in the shade so that visitors can eat within the municipal swimming pool. “Eventually, we have the idea of ​​installing a food truck,” assures the town hall.

Finally, visitors will have the opportunity to sign up for the various daily activities, organized by the structure’s lifeguards. The morning will be devoted to activities reserved for adults, from 11 a.m. to noon. They can indulge in aquafinning, aquacross or aquajogging activities. The afternoon will be reserved for children’s activities, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. They can compete against each other during obstacle courses or water polo matches, for example. “Every day, there will be a different activity,” explains the Castelnaudary town hall.

Prices remain unchanged compared to previous years, namely for Chauriens free entry for children under six years old, 2.50 euros for children and adolescents under 18 years old, 3.60 euros for people over 18 years old. Reduced rates are set at 2.40 euros.
