The federal prosecutor’s office has proposed a two-match suspension to Ibrahim Diakité (Cercle de Bruges) for having deliberately kicked Mario Stroeykens on Sunday during the reception of Anderlecht.
Bruges, already trailing by four goals when Diakité was sent off in the 82nd minute, lost heavily 0-5.
According to the report of referee Wesli De Cremer, the 21-year-old defender, transferred from Stade de Reims this summer, was first fouled by Stroeykens at the halfway line.
He then reacted in a gesture of humor with a kick which hit the knee of the Anderlecht midfielder, after the referee had whistled the foul.
The federal prosecutor’s office considers that the player was thus guilty of an offense contrary to the values of sport by wanting to take revenge on his opponent.
But he took into account his clean disciplinary record, and only requested a two-match suspension for the former Panda, plus one suspended match.
The Circle can accept the sanction, or refuse it. In the second case, the matter would be brought before the Disciplinary Committee for Professional Football.
“It’s offside for fuck’s sake!”
The federal prosecutor’s office also ruled on the three red cards brandished on Friday towards the two benches by referee Arthur Denil, during the Challenger Pro League match RFC Liège – RWDM (2-1).
Only Yannick Ferrera, the visiting T1, however, risks a sanction, for having shouted “It’s offside damn it” after the winning goal signed by Mohamed Mouhli in added time (90th + 2).
The federal prosecutor’s office requested a suspended suspension match and a fine of 500 euros.
Molenbeek’s T2 Pierre-Baptiste Baherlé, who complained a little too vehemently to the fourth referee and paid him a red, was not the subject of a suspension proposal.
RFC Liège coach Gaëtan Englebert had previously been the first to be asked to return to the stands after his protest when a Ryan Merlen goal was canceled midway through the second half,
Englebert crossed the line, according to Denil: “He came out of his neutral zone and expressed his displeasure towards the fourth official in an overly hostile manner, while remaining polite. It was an attitude that I did not find acceptable, and so I excluded it.”
The federal prosecutor’s office, for its part, did not consider the attitude of the blood and navy coach to be excessive, and considers the exclusion sufficient.
