The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Madame Khady Diéne Gaye, announced this Wednesday, November 13, 2024 that the Aline Sitoé Diatta stadiums in Ziguinchor, Ely Manel Fall in Diourbel and the Lamine Gueye stadium in Kaolack will be open soon.

According to a press release from the Minister of Sports, these three stadiums, which have been rehabilitated for more than a year, will be open to the public from Tuesday, November 19, 2024. The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture announced that these new facilities are part of a strategy to modernize sports facilities launched by the President of the Republic His Excellency Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye.

The objective is to provide the regions of Ziguinchor, Diourbel and Kaolack with modern stadiums, meeting the needs of young people, sports players and local communities, to encourage sporting development. The minister also recalled the importance of effective and civic management of these installations. She encouraged the committees as well as the users to ensure the maintenance of these infrastructures, in order to ensure their sustainability and proper functioning for future generations.

Local authorities and presidents of departmental councils are also invited to actively collaborate to maintain the quality of this equipment, thus meeting the expectations of sports fans across the country.
