For several years, FC Barcelona has been developing a partnership with Africa to unearth the continent’s greatest talents. Collaborations with academies located in Morocco, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mali and Senegal to allow these countries to benefit from Catalan know-how for training. The objective then is that the players spotted are sent to Europe for their career. It is precisely in Senegal that Barça bet with two Senegalese U17 internationals thanks to the Be Sport Academy project.
15 days to prove themselves
Mouhamed Dabo and Elhadj Malick Cissé arrived this Monday at Ciutat Esportiva for their first training with Juvenil B. They have 15 days to convince the supervisors of La Masia to keep them for further tests because they cannot officially sign before 18 years old. These two players play in midfield and are considered among the biggest prospects of their generation. Mouhamed Dabo is also vice-captain of the Senegal U17 selection. Two other young people, from Ghana, arrived recently and have even already played with Barça Athletic: David Oduro and Aziz Issah.
