FC Barcelona announced on Wednesday that its striker, Ansu Fati, contracted a hamstring muscle injury, which is expected to keep him out of action for four weeks.
“During training this Wednesday, striker Ansu Fati suffered an injury to the biceps femoris of his right thigh,” the Catalan club said in a press release.
The Spanish giant, leader of La Liga, specified that the absence of the Spanish international should last around four weeks and that the medical staff will closely monitor his recovery.
Loaned last season to Brighton, the former great hope of Spanish football is expected to miss the Champions League match against Brest on November 26, as well as the La Liga matches against Celta Vigo, Las Palmas, Mallorca and Betis Sevilla .
On Monday, Barça also announced the unavailability of two other of its star attackers: Robert Lewandowski, injured in the lower back, will be absent for around ten days, while Lamine Yamal, suffering from an ankle, will be sidelined for two to three weeks.
