Suspended for insulting Liverpool, referee filmed… snorting white powder

Already in the eye of the storm for insulting Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool, English referee David Coote was filmed snorting white powder resembling cocaine. A video which, according to The Sun, was taken the day after ’s victory against Portugal at the Euro, during which he officiated at the VAR.

David Coote is stacking the pots. After insulting Jürgen Klopp and Liverpool, the Premier League referee was this time filmed snorting white powder, similar to cocaine, in a hotel, reveals The Sun this Wednesday, November 13. The Englishman was reportedly filmed the day after France’s victory against Portugal in the quarter-final of Euro 2024, during which he officiated at VAR.

Coote suspended by UEFA

In the video, the referee sniffs a trail of white powder using a US bank note. According to the English tabloid, this scene was filmed in a hotel room paid for by UEFA. Furthermore, many prescription medications are also present on the referee’s table.

The source, that The Sun wished to remain anonymous, specifies that he would have made insulting remarks towards Everton and Andy Robertson, Liverpool player. Pending the outcome of this case, the referee has already been suspended by UEFA after the publication of this video.
