Gregg Popovich has been away from the Spurs bench for several games due to a “health concern”. In the unknown, we were obviously a little worried. We now know a little more.
It was Shams Charania who brought news regarding the legendary San Antonio coach.
According to the insiderESPNGregg Popovich suffered a “mild” stroke on November 2, while he was at the Frost Bank Center (San Antonio venue). Obviously, as soon as we talk about a stroke, we tend to freak out but fortunately, Coach Pop should recover without any after-effects.

If Gregg Popovich therefore seems out of danger and his health should continue to improve, we do not know when he will return to the Spurs bench. No date has in fact been given by the Texan franchise.
The oldest coach in the NBA (75 years old) and head coach of the Spurs for almost 30 years, Gregg Popovich must take care of himself as a priority, well before thinking about the different ways to use Victor Wembanyama. This mission is today reserved for his young assistant Mitch Johnson, who should coach the Spurs for quite a few more matches.
