Training: first session for Jorge Sampaoli
This Wednesday morning, Jorge Sampaoli leads his first session with Stade Rennes, and a small group.
The international break will not help the new coach make his diagnosis very quickly. The day after his presentation to the press, Jorge Sampaoli led his first session this morning, which began at around 10:45 a.m., in the presence of Frederic Massara.
The technician was able to carry out his baptism under a cloudy sky and a very cool November temperature in Brittany. Sampaoli supervised the start of the training led by his assistants Diogo Meschine and Pablo Fernandez, in French for the latter. Marcos Fernandez, Romaric Boch and Thomas Choinard are also present for the workshops for the 14 outfield players, under the eye of the video analyst unit led by César Arghirudis.
During this period, it was a small group that carried out the session: 11 players from the pro group (Matusiwa, Santamaria, Jota, Blas, Hateboer, Nagida, Truffert, Assignon, Meister, Faye and Ahamada) were joined by 3 players of the N3 (Cissé, Maboulou, H.Do Marcolino). On the goalkeeper side, Olivier Sorin carried out the session with Gauthier Gallon and Mathis Silistrie.
“Piv’ 2” is moving forward
The opening of press training was also an opportunity to see the progress of the work on Piverdière 2, in particular the building intended for the pro group (photo 1), expected for January-February 2025, and that of the Academy (photo 2), which will overlook the professional training ground today.
