Radja Nainggolan is still looking for a new club, but the former Red Devil has not yet found a new challenge. During an interview with Kool Cast, he discussed his future. Will he hang up his crampons soon?
Nainggolan looking for Belgian club
“I think the end is near. There is a time to arrive and a time to leave. Begging to play Football is not my style. I would of course like to continue playing, and when I see the current level, I think I could play for another four years,” says Nainggolan.
The Jupiler Pro League, the only objective
Nainggolan added that he aims to play in First Division A. “When you see the players who play there, I am sure that I still have the level. This is not to criticize the current players, because there is some very good young talent. But I only want to play in Belgium, I don’t want to travel anymore. It will be Belgium or nothing. »
The former international also notes that football has changed a lot, becoming dominated by money, with less importance given to performance.
Advising young players
“Football has become a business. We recruit young players to sell them later. Clubs no longer think about winning, but about generating profits. Before, players stayed six or seven years in a team, now we sell them after two years. This is the reality of football today. Why are these foreign investors entering football? Half of them know nothing about this sport,” criticizes Nainggolan.
A mentor role envisaged
Nainggolan finally spoke about the contribution he could make to certain teams: “What I miss most of all is the locker room. I’m not asking to play every match, but I could pass on my experience to the young people. Arthur Vermeeren, for example, said after his transfer that he learned a lot from me. »
