Rowing champion Margaux Bailleul sets out on the road to the 4L trophy with her sister!

Margaux Bailleul from decided to take on a challenge far removed from rowing, of which she is French champion in double sculls. With her younger sister Eugénie, she is preparing for the 4L Trophy, an orienteering race across the Moroccan desert, aboard the famous Renault. An adventure reserved for young adventurers!

The gestures are not yet completely assured, but it is indeed a revision session for Margaux and Eugénie Bailleul. “Girls, we’re going to have to check the front brake pads.”

Under the watchful eye of their father, the two sisters must anticipate all the repairs that the dunes of the Moroccan desert have in store for them.

Me, I have already done the 4L trophy in 2023 with a friend so it is the same vehicle which will leave with Margaux in 2025. We had always wanted to do it together but we had never found the time between studies and our professional obligations.

In 2023, Eugénie and a friend took this 4L to 12th place in the women’s ranking.

A taste for performance… and help

This year, Eugénie is on the routing and Margaux is at the wheel. They hope to do even better than in 2023, even if ultimately this is not the most important thing.

On site, they will also equip isolated schools in southern Morocco.

For me, it’s something else, it allows me to carry out another project and with my family too. We take on this challenge above all for the humanitarian side, we go there to help the children.

The orienteering race will be the occasion for unforgettable encounters during each bivouac. And to bring school, medical and sports supplies to Merzouga, in the middle of the desert. Until then, we must upgrade the 4L which will be well loaded.

And complete the budget for the adventure with a Leetchi prize pool and partners.

We are still looking for 8,000 euros out of the 10,000 euros we need in total. We’ve made 20% of the journey, there’s still some left! We mainly survey local businesses who are our primary supporters.

On February 19, Margaux and Eugénie hope to take the start of the 4L Trophy in . Until then, you will be able to follow the preparation of the Sisters Havraises on social networks.
