Fans of the Montreal Canadiens who need comfort can turn to Boston College, where goalie Jacob Fowler rules the roost.

Sunday, the third-round pick (69e in total) of Sainte-Flanelle in the 2023 draft signed a 26-save shutout in a 3-0 victory over the University of Maine.

This is Fowler’s third shutout in eight starts so far in 2024-25. The 19-year-old masked man has a 7-1-0 record, a .950 save percentage and a 1.26 goals-against average.

It was also the second victory for the Boston College Eagles in as many outings this weekend, having defeated the University of Maine 3-2 on Friday night. In this duel, the Habs’ hopeful repelled 28 pucks.

Fowler is playing his second season in the NCAA Division I. Last year, he had a 32-6-1 record, a .926 save percentage and a 2.14 goals-against average in 39 games.

Many wonder if the Florida native could not make the jump to the professionals this season, when his university campaign ends.
