The co-founder of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, Pierre Lavoie, and the President and CEO of Quebecor, Pierre Karl Péladeau, stood near the finish line to encourage the cyclists.

“The crowd is going wild! The family welcomes us. It’s always extremely pleasant on Father’s Day […] It’s an exceptional moment of celebration,” declared Mr. Péladeau, in an interview with TVA 5 p.m.

“It is an honor and a privilege for Quebecor to participate in this event for 13 years now,” continues Mr. Péladeau.

The President and CEO of Quebecor salutes the efforts and capacity for renewal of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, which inaugurated its first edition of the 1000 km since the renewal.

“There is no shortage of imagination in this organization. What makes Pierre strong is having surrounded himself with very high quality people. It’s thanks to Pierre and his team in a renewed formula that we had so much fun, and even more,” he insists.

Despite this renewed formula for the 1000 km, the course took place “above the expectations” of the organizers, admits Pierre Lavoie.

“We end with pride. We had great uncertainties. It’s a renewed and solid challenge for the next 15 years,” explains the co-founder of the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie.

Mr. Lavoie says he is “reassured” to be able to count on a united team of 1,500 volunteers for around ten years.

“We managed to keep them. The bearing is solid. It is anchored on values and principles. We can still create great things in Quebec. We are capable of meeting the challenges before us, both in health and in education. I believe it. I am motivated to continue,” admits Pierre Lavoie.

This edition of the 1000 km is an “unexpected success” and Pierre Lavoie is “extremely proud” of it.

Currently, the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie has raised more than $2.5 million.
