The sixth stage of the Tour de Suisse was won by Joao Almeida (UAE Team Emirates) this Friday June 14. The Portuguese won after only 42.5 km of a shortened stage between Ulrichen and Blatten due to weather conditions. Almeida took the victory ahead of his teammate Adam Yates and the Dane Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl – Trek).
In the general classification, Adam Yates remains in the yellow jersey with 27 seconds ahead of his teammate Joao Almeida. The latter took advantage of his success and the bonuses to take second place in the general classification from Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers), third.
