Absent from the ATP Finals due to injury, Novak Djokovic has ended his 2024 season. However, he warns: he wants to triumph again at the Grand Slam and at the Australian Open in his sights.
Passing through Belgrade to attend a Euroleague basketball match between Red Star and Alba Berlin (92-71 victory for the Serbs), “Nole” received a long standing ovation from the public. He then answered questions from the Sport Klub television channel.
“I am still focused on tennis!”, he assured. “I’m going to be all in during the offseason and we’re going for a ride again. I just needed to recharge the batteries and find a little freshness after an exhausting year,” added the man who completed his formidable record in 2024 by winning Olympic gold.
“I’m going to play from the first week of the 2025 season, I’m just not sure of the venue yet. Then, obviously, at the Australian Open,” said Djokovic, who will undoubtedly aim for a 25th Grand Slam title, an absolute record for men and women combined.
